This shop offers Tobe-yaki (Tobe ceramic ware) and other household goods.
We also have original Imabari towels that can be obtained only here and a variety of works by Ehime artists. Tobe-yaki is Japanese tableware which can be used for many years and is perfectly suitable for daily use, as it warms your heart every time you use it.
Most Tobe-yaki can be used with microwave ovens (except those on which gold is used).

The direct outlet of Ōshima Pottery in Honjō, Yoshiumi-chō, Imabari City.
All the products are handmade. This shop is family-run, and each member creates in a different style from the others, carrying out the full process from idea to formation and firing.
Colorful flower vases and cups are not painted, but, using a technique called nerikomi, portions of white clay are dyed pink, blue, etc. and then combined. The works are artistic and require high technic ability.
Cups and bottles for sake and others for which gold is used are fired once, then handpainted using gold, and fired again, in a style called kinsai. They are made by a potter who learned Japanese painting and who uses traditional motifs.

A retail store directly run by Yamadaya Manjū which has been in business since 1867.
Our specialty is a bite-size manjū (steamed bean bun) which has not been changed since we started our business.
Matcha Pudding and Hōjicha Pudding are also popular.
Using fragrant matcha (powered green tea) from Uji in Kyoto and Yamadaya's pureed sweet red-bean paste, we make a smooth pudding that melts in your mouth. Our red-bean paste is also excellent with aromatic hōjicha (roasted green tea).

Cold shiruko (sweet red-bean soup) "Kira", Matcha Pudding, and Hōjicha Pudding can be eaten inside the store.

This is the only store specializing in Japanese musical instruments in Matsuyama.
Typical Japanese instruments, such as koto, shamisen, and shakuhachi, have been played in Japan for a long time.
Nowadays, they are introduced in music classes at school, and are being brought up to date. For example, they can be tuned differently to play J-pop or to collaborate with Western instruments.
We offer more than 300 folding fans used in Japanese dance, decorated with designs, such as cherry blossoms and ripples.
We also have small Japanese items, including towels and ballpoint pens, with motifs from the Edo era, such as ukiyoe, kabuki, geisha, and Mt. Fuji. Our small boxes made of Japanese cotton cloth are very popular as souvenirs.

We carefully select “kabuse matcha” from fragrant “Shingū wakinocha” grown in Shingū-chō, and knead it into rice cakes. The outside of the rice cake is also dusted with plenty of matcha.
Please enjoy the bitterness of matcha and the sweetness of koshi-an (pureed sweet red-bean paste) and cream.
